f.a.q
Volume weight is the volume ratio between space used and the bulk weight.
For air cargo, according to IATA (International Air Transport Association), the ratio is 1m3 = 167 kg
For example.
Shipment of a trunk with the following dimensions:
100 * 55 * 38 cm (1 * 0.55 * 0.38 meters)
Volume = 1 * 0.55 * 0.38 = 0,209 m3 = 0.21 m3 The volume weight is equal to 0.21 * 167 = 35 kg
The chargeable weight is always the largest number:
Case 1: The actual weight of the trunk is 45 kg, the chargeable weight will be 45 kg .
Case 2: The actual weight of the trunk is 30 kg, the chargeable weight will be 35 kg.
For express service, the ratio is 1m3 = 250 kg or 1m3 = 200 kg
For economy service, the ratio is 1m3 = 250 kg or 1m3 = 200 kg
